A box for four

The night is already planned.

One box shows up with everything four people need for one evening — the activity, every supply, and a card somebody reads out loud. You pick the night.

The actual problem

Everybody wants to. Nobody wants to plan it.

The group chat agrees. It's been six weeks. Somebody says "we should do something soon," everyone reacts to it, and nothing happens.

It's not that you don't want to see each other. It's that seeing each other requires one person to decide what you'll do, buy whatever that needs, and clean up after. It's the same person every time, and eventually that person is tired.

So this is a box that does that part. It arrives with the plan already made, and the plan is good.

"We should do this more often" is a thing people say instead of a thing they do.

Three steps

It takes about four minutes to set up, once.

  1. Pick a cadence

Monthly, every other month, or once a season. Skip or cancel whenever — no phone call.

  2. A box shows up

New theme every time, built around whatever the season is doing. You don't have to decide.

  3. Text the group

Pick a night, open the box, read the card out loud. Everything else is already in there.

Paint & Petals

You arrange the flowers, then you paint the flowers. Nobody's painting is good.

Everyone gets a palette, a board, and a stem from the middle of the table. Arrange it first — that's half the evening — then paint it badly by candlelight. The arrangement is the centerpiece either way.

About 90 minutes at the table.

What's in it

  • 4 primed wood panels (8×8")
  • 4 palettes
  • 12 tubes acrylic
  • 16 brushes in four shapes
  • 4 water cups
  • 2 blocks floral foam
  • shears
  • a roll of stem tape
  • 4 pillar candles
  • 12 matchbooks

You add

  • Flowers — a grocery-store bunch is exactly right
  • a tablecloth you're not precious about

Every box, every time

Five things, and one of them is the reason it works.

The activity is what you'll talk about. The host card is why it actually happens.

  • 4

    The activity

Every supply for four people, pre-portioned. Including the scissors. No trip to the craft store, no shopping list.

  • 1

    The host card

One page. Whoever's hosting reads it out loud as you go. That's the whole prep.

  • Something to drink

A recipe card and the shelf-stable half — the syrup, the mix, the tea, the garnish. You add the cold part.

  • 2 hours

    The playlist

A code you scan. Two hours, built for the box, no ads.

  • 12

    Conversation cards

Twelve prompts, for when the craft part goes quiet. It always goes quiet.

Good to know

The questions that come up.

How many people does one box serve?

Four. Every supply is portioned for four, including the parts people forget to count, like needles and tea lights.

What if there are more than four of us?

Order two boxes and you'll have supplies for eight, plus two host cards, which is genuinely useful with a big group.

Can I skip a month?

Yes, up to five days before it ships, online. No phone call, no email chain.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, online. You'll get whatever's already shipped and nothing after it.

Do I know what's coming?

You know the next one — it's named on the shop page. The one after that is a surprise, which most people say is the best part.

Can I choose a specific box?

You can swap your upcoming box for anything in the archive that's still shipping.

Do I need to be good at crafts?

No. Every box has a range built in, and the output is a slightly wonky candle and a good evening, in that order of honesty.

How long does an activity take?

Between 45 minutes and two hours, and it's printed on every box. The rest of the evening is yours.

Does the box come with alcohol?

No. Every box ships the shelf-stable half — the syrup, the mix, the garnish — and you add the cold part. Every recipe works with or without alcohol.

Where do you ship?

Continental US, free on any subscription. A single box is $8.

When does my first box arrive?

It ships within three business days. After that it's the 1st of the month, on whatever cadence you picked.

Can I send one as a gift?

Not yet. It's the thing we get asked about most.
